It’s the news that has everyone at Ralph wagging their tails - financial backing from Callaghan Innovation. This is an exciting step in our journey towards becoming New Zealand’s first fully vegan pet food company.
Callaghan Innovation is New Zealand’s leading innovation agency and backed by the New Zealand Government. A NZ government agency, Callaghan Innovation’s mission is to “activate innovation and help business grow faster for a better New Zealand.”
 

WHAT IT MEANS FOR US:

This recognition from Callaghan Innovation reinforces that we are doing something important, something that the people want. The future is gearing towards plant-based food, and while the human diet has made great inroads into vegan and meat-alternative foods, this backing ensures that plant-based pet food is part of the conversation. The world needs to continue innovating in the food space, creating more ethical and more sustainable means of feeding the planet (people and pets). It’s rewarding to see institutions like Callaghan Innovation bolstering that.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR DOG:

Ralph is on a mission to create sustainable and ethical food for your pets. But we don’t want to compromise on quality. We love dogs, and their health and happiness comes before all else. This grant gives us the funding to properly test and trial Ralph dog foods, ensuring your furry friend gets the best nutrients delivered in the tastiest kibble.
 

Receiving the Callaghan Grant is no easy feat. Competition is fierce and we had to prove that our product was unique and added value to the market. We were assessed on our team, our vision, our research and our science.
This is a big win for Ralph and for our customers. Pet parents can have full confidence that our products will be backed by science and ethically responsible. Adding to that peace of mind, we’re happy to disclose that we use expert Animal Nutritionists, Food Scientists from Food South at Lincoln and Otago University, and Researchers and AAFCO test facilities from Massey University.
